Energy savings is a priority for energy suppliers through the adoption by Swiss confederation of the Energy Strategic Plan 2050. One of the main targets is to replace 80% of current electric meters with smart meters up to 2027.
ELCA is at the forefront of delivering tailored digital solutions to enhance customer service and streamline technician interventions across multiple sites. Our solution is built on:
- A CRM framework that offers a 360° view of customers, enabling better service organization and optimized technicians’ dispatch in the field.
- Leveraging the latest technologies such as the Microsoft Power Platform, Dynamics 365 Customer Service, Artificial Intelligence and Azure.
However, today’s Field Service teams are facing significant challenges as they struggle to optimize technician schedules effectively. Despite the rapid advancements in technology, no comprehensive, end-to-end solution exists on the market to address these issues.
The mission of this internship is to study and implement a prototype to automatically plan and optimize technician’s workday thanks to state-of-the-art models.
Objectives
Your Mission:
As a key player in this innovative project, you will drive the development of cutting-edge solutions to enhance field service management in the energy and utilities sector. You will have the opportunity to:
- Work in partnership with one of our customers, an energy company, to understand their pain points and to gather sample data.
- Analyze and Innovate: Structure customer needs and find the best solution by searching the existing literature such as academic/scientific publications.
- Harness the Power of Azure and AI: Leverage Azure’s platform and advanced AI tools, to design and develop an integrated prototype solution with Dynamics 365 Field Service. This solution will:
- Optimize technician schedules by factoring in time, skills, and other constraints. Including a solution to optimize technician tour routes directly on a map.
- Provide Field Service dispatching propositions with proactive AI-driven suggestions, enabling them to make relevant decisions in real time.

Skills required
- Knowledge of the Cloud. Ideally Microsoft Azure
- Knowledge of web protocols. HTTP, Web Services
- Interest in AI usage on a concrete use case
- Ease for web Front UX is a plus
