CONTEXT
The sports market in Switzerland is full of potential on Second Life. These are the main insights worth sharing:
- 69% of the population claims to practice sport “several times a week.” This makes the Swiss belong to one of the most sportive populations of the world, and a gold mine of used sport equipment.
- Second hand resale is expected to grow 9X faster than the broader retail clothing sector by 2027.
- Swiss customers renew their product frequently (46% renew their bike every 2 years). MISSION AND RESPONSABILITIES
Your role consists in leading the SECOND LIFE project for DECATHLON in SWITZERLAND. You will be reporting directly to the Head of Strategy and Services. This is a 6-month position to cover for a maternity leave.
Your mission is to develop Second Life in physical stores and online, through our network, as well as internal and external partnerships for DECATHLON SWITZERLAND. Based on your knowledge of the Second Life market in Switzerland and its evolution, your mission will be to guarantee the acceleration of Second Life product sales with a 360° approach (from Merchandising, to communications, digital, supply, etc.).
Your responsibilities will be to:
- Implement the 2026 roadmap of the Second Life strategy, in collaboration with offer and business unit leaders
- Animate our Buyback service and offer, including the products we can buy back and optimize our pricing model
- Guarantee and animate the economic performance of Second Life in Switzerland
- Co-create and deploy the communication & merchandising materials to enhance the customer experience, in stores and online
- Manage teammates and projects on Second Life across functions (e.g. stores, digital, finance, communications, merchandising…)
- Organize events around Second Life in the country (e.g., Bike Exchange in March 2026)
- Explore and implement new business models around Second Life
In a context where Switzerland was born from a partnership with extremely rapid and agile development, you will favor external partnerships, rely on the UNITED strategy conducted in neighboring countries and at the group level, and will not hesitate to find unique and specific levers for acceleration in Switzerland.
