Energy suppliers must innovate and drive energy savings to support environmental challenges while developing attractive services for their customers.

It is decisive for these suppliers to propose a user-friendly and complete experience to support each consumer identifying his personal breakdown of energy consumption, allowing him to compare with similar households and act to reduce its carbon footprint.

A first prototype to display the electricity load curves has already been designed. It should be extended to propose innovative and easy to use solution by leveraging new technologies.

Objectives

The goal of this internship is to study existing portals and apps on Energy / Telecom sector and explore new technologies (AI, Machine learning) and UX design (User-centric design, Accessibility) trends to propose new and differentiating features to end users in Switzerland.

• Step 1: Study existing portals or apps, potential new features and next generation of UX design that could make a difference

• Step 2: Use Drupal and Microsoft Power Platform to develop a prototype solution to:

• Allow end user designing his installation’s energy consuming equipment (machine, engine, fridge, washing machine, heater system…)
• Allow end user to learn deeper about its consumption by equipment and compare with companies having similar activities or similar households

• Provide end user personalized advice to optimize the configuration of his installation or change his habits (eco-gesture)

• Step 3: Decline this solution as a mobile app so end user can use it in mobility

This work is performed in collaboration with one of our clients, an energy supplier.

Skills required

• Web development (PHP language and frameworks, JavaScript, CSS)
• Knowledge of web protocols. HTTP, Web Services, …
• Ease for web Front UX is a plus
• Experience with Drupal theme is a plus
• Innovative and curious
