Your role

Are you an enthusiastic Computer Science undergraduate or postgraduate looking for a 12-month Internship? Do you have excellent problem-solving skills to solve advanced IT and Data Science problems for our market leading data science model development platform? If so, you are the right person for this role. We’re seeking young talents to join our development team within UBS RiskLab Model Services. We’re looking for someone like that to:

• work on Web GUI framework for data scientists’ Machine Learning applications from various UBS business divisions
• contribute to DevOps processes and setup the optimal data science, AI and GenAI, code release CICD pipeline.
• work on industry leading Machine Learning frameworks and in-house developed Gen AI foundation software framework.
• be a product champion on Microsoft Azure products such as Azure Databricks, Azure Kubernetes Services and Machine Learning and GenAI products
• have good communication skills and willing to interact with UBS data scientists and IT to understand and solve their business problems

Your team

You will be part of the UBS Risk IT, RiskLab and Model Services team.

The RiskLab Model Service team is a group software and data science professionals who brings modern computer science and data science, ML and GenAI technology and IT platform to bank’s data scientists from various business divisions.

We implement common reusable solutions to ensure the data science model development and execution runs on most optimal and scalable framework. We research emerging data science, ML and GenAI technology and draw up adaptation plan for our data scientist and IT audience, and setup regular training sessions or pilot model development to ensure UBS remains competitive and ahead of our peers.

Your expertise

You need to have completed at least four semesters of your bachelor’s degree or have obtained your master’s degree within the last 6 months.

In particular, you have:

• Information Technology / Computer Science degree in your undergraduate is a must
• passion for programming and be a problem solver, Have good understanding on object oriented programming and functional programming paradigm and sound knowledge on data structures and algorithms
• excellent understanding of Web development framework such as React and Typescript, Full stack development experience will be given preferential consideration
• knowledge in Data scientist friendly GUI framework such as Streamlit and Dash is beneficial
• be proficient in Python programming
• exposure to some container technologies such as Containers, Kubernetes, versioning technology such as GitLab, and build pipelines
• foundational understanding of Machine Learning, Deep Learning and GenAI would be a plus
• good English language
