Your role

Do you enjoy consulting and leading digital transformation projects? Do you want to be a part of UBS’s accelerating digital transformation? Are you passionate about developing and applying classical as well as more advanced risk models and have an interest in latest technologies like: Artificial Intelligence, Cognitive Automation, and Advanced Analytics?

We’re looking for bright students to join our 2025 Internship Program within Group Internal Consulting.

You’ll get to:

  • propose ideas on how we can make improvements to our business; take these ideas and bring them to life problem solve and craft actionable solutions across transformation/integration projects
  • present insights internally by transforming complex information into clear takeaways and recommendations

  • work on projects or workstreams within projects for all business functions considering the latest technological trends especially within the AI & Advanced Analytics space
  • help to build awareness, assess opportunities for new modelling techniques, and assist in solution design as part of both client projects and internally focused initiatives
  • work in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture

Your team

You’ll be working in Group Internal Consulting located in Zurich. We’re a dynamic, driven, and diverse team with over 750 people present in 5 regions across the globe. As part of the firm’s Group Integration Office, we work in close partnership with all divisions and functions to drive transformation and change across UBS, supporting the firm in achieving its strategic goals.
Our focus is on delivering high quality services, with fast onboarding, leveraging institutional knowledge. You will be working in the Services unit based in Zürich, which is part of the broader Group Internal Consulting department. Our practice teams help UBS business functions implement their digital strategy and accomplish their ambitions in the areas of emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Advanced Analytics, Cognitive Automation and Blockchain.

Your expertise

We’re looking for a candidate who:

  • is motivated to work in a business with high demands and tight deadlines
  • in addition to a strong analytical background, has attention to detail along with structured organization and planning skills
  • is highly driven and motivated with a can-do attitude; eager to learn and solve complex problems
  • has a strong written and verbal communicator, able to work well with the team and to present well to stakeholders
  • has experience in classical programming languages is a plus: Python, R, SAS, or Matlab
  • has experience in one or more of the following topics is a plus: Machine Learning, Big Data, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Information Extraction & Classification, Data Preparation & Cleansing, Data Mining and Visualization, Chatbots (NLU/intent recognition, dialog/conversation modelling, etc)
  • has experience in any of these areas is a plus, Financial engineering, econometrics, risk modelling
  • has prior internship(s) in either digital transformation or banking a plus
  • fuent in English both written and spoken, other languages a plus

Your program

This paid internship will last 6 months. You’ll work with our experts and learn about the industry, our clients and our firm. You’ll be right at the heart of our business, learning from your colleagues, taking part in day-to-day operations. You’ll be given mentors along the way and will have the chance to get to know some of the most senior members of our teams.

You’ll have plenty of opportunities to develop new skills and make contacts along the way. If you like challenges, enjoy learning and want to work where no two days are the same, this program is for you.

If you have a successful internship, you may get an offer to return for our Graduate Talent Program after you’ve completed your studies.
