Path to the Global Power+ Graduate Development Program: Application and Entry

Why did you choose Power+ and how did the application process go?

Klara: The Power+ Program seemed like the perfect opportunity to try out different roles and find out where my true passion lies. I submitted my documents online, followed by an online assessment that also included a personality test. After that, I was invited to an HR interview and participated in an assessment day.

Rotations and Projects

Which rotations or projects have you already completed?

Andrea-Kaito: I started in Zurich and worked on digital initiatives to improve project management processes. Then I moved to Tokyo to join the Global Service Sales Team, where I developed a digital sales tool to optimize internal communication and KPI tracking. I also had the opportunity to experience the role of an Area Sales Manager, which included business trips to Indonesia and the USA.

International Experiences and Highlights

Where did you complete your abroad assignment and what made this experience special?

Reto: I had the opportunity to complete my short-term assignment in Madrid, Spain. There, I worked in the product management team for mobile substation solutions. I also had the opportunity to immerse myself in Spanish culture and learn the language.

What was your best experience abroad – and what was the biggest challenge?

Reto: The best part of my short-term assignment in Madrid was how much I learned about power grids and the close collaboration with my mentor. The biggest challenge was quickly getting up to speed with the technical details while improving my Spanish enough to communicate effectively with the local teams.

What has been your highlight moment or favorite event in the program so far?

Andrea-Kaito:The two business trips to Indonesia and the USA were absolute highlights. Additionally, Power+ events such as factory visits and after-work meetups are unforgettable experiences. I especially love the concept of speaking dinners because they provide us with the opportunity to engage with top executives in a relaxed atmosphere.

Klara:I love the initiatives in Switzerland, especially my work in the core team for internal excursions, where we organize factory visits.

Community and Tips

How would you describe the global Power+ community?

Klara: I never expected to form such close friendships. The Power+ community feels like a small family. We support each other and grow together.
Andrea-Kaito: We also benefit from mentoring by former trainees who now hold leadership positions.

What advice would you give to someone applying for the Global Power+ Graduate Development Program?

Klara: Just be yourself and show who you really are. Honesty and openness will take you a long way.

Andrea-Kaito: Make it clear why you're passionate about the program and the company, and don't be afraid to be authentic.

From Switzerland to the world and back – that’s precisely what the Global Power+ Graduate Development Program makes possible. It offers the opportunity to explore various business areas, gain international experience, and establish a strong network.
Recent and soon-to-be STEM graduates who want to shape the energy future actively can still apply for the next round until October 31.
