Not only because of the extra workload due to vacations, but also when you work in an office without air conditioning. But don't worry, there are ways you can beat the heat.
The simplest and certainly best-known tip: drink enough water. This is absolutely essential in the summer. Put a water bottle on your desk, that way you'll always be reminded to drink and you'll stay hydrated and focused. However, there are many other factors you can consider when battling the heat:
Choose appropriate clothing
Wear lightweight, breathable clothing to keep your body cool. Natural fabrics such as cotton, linen, silk, lyocell, viscose and microfiber are particularly suitable. Keep in mind the office dress code and make sure your clothes are both comfortable and appropriate.
Provide ventilation
If you don't have air conditioning, open the windows or use a fan to ventilate the room. Good air circulation can help lower the temperature and keep you cool.
Optimize your workspace
If you work by a window, lower the blinds or draw the curtains to block direct sunlight. Also, use natural light whenever possible and turn off unused lights. Older models in particular can give off a lot of heat.
Use plants
Some houseplants can help cool the office. Plants such as the cobra thread, rubber tree, or bow hemp (from left to right) are great for improving the office climate on hot days.
Cool snacks
Fruits like watermelon or berries are not only delicious, but also refreshing. Yogurt is also a good choice. A small, cool snack can help you cool down and energize you at the same time. The summer months bring challenges, but with the right strategies, you can keep your cool and stay productive. Drink plenty of water, cool down regularly, and give yourself a break - don't overheat!
